GETTING YOUR PAGE ON THE SEARCH ENGINES

To advertise your page FREE with all the major search engines, go to
http://www.submit-it.com and you can fill out a form to submit your URL
and description, etc. to the major search engines.  To add your URL to
search engines that aren't included in Submit It, then go to the separate
engine you want and click on something to the extent of "Add URL" or "Submit
URL" somewhere on the page.

This will increase your hit count and traffic flow greatly.  If your page is
lucky enough to get on Yahoo! your hit count will increase by about 10,000
in a short time.

NOTE!!!  To get your page on Yahoo, even if you're using Submit It! you have
to go to Yahoo! (http://www.yahoo.com) and go to the subject and category
your page would belong in (you can do more than one, but do that later) and
make sure it's not in the main section..Say you have a music home page.

You can't just put it under Entertainment -> Music.  It would have to be under
something like Entertainment -> Music -> Genres -> Alternative or 
Entertainment -> Music -> Magazines.

Another quick tip:  Search engines have the right not to accept your 
submission.
Make sure your page is at least barely respectable and has at least SOME
information on it.  They are most likely not going to accept some 3 liner
home page you made about your dog and your love for chocolate ice cream, with
3 links on it.
